Hello there, I've decided to compile some information on wedding banquets for the benefit of others, just as how other brides-to-be have greatly helped me by sharing information online.
In this post, I'll be sharing on the Wedding packages for 2015 offered by Mandarin Oriental, Goodwood Park Hotel, Park Royal On Beach Road.
INFORMATION AS OF FEB 2015.
Most of the information are taken from the packages provided by the various Hotel websites. Packages are not in full details as I've only highlighted what I feel is important to the couple when deciding on a Wedding banquet.
For more details, do approach the sale coordinators of the relevant hotels. If you do need unbiased opinions though, feel free to drop me an email. :)

Pros of Mandarin Oriental:
- Known to serve one of the most delicious food among all the wedding banquets in Singapore
- Good location, ideally located especially for weekday dinner for friends to come after work. Also, within walking distance to various MRT stations.
- 5 Wedding themes to choose from (Happiness/Love/Sweetheart/Dream/Dazzle), all 5 are absolutely stunning
- 9 course meal compared to the usual 8 course at other banquets
Cons of Mandarin Oriental:
- Mandarin Oriental does not serve shark's fin.
- Complimentary food tasting is only valid for dinners held at their Oriental Ballroom. (WTF, so your other customers holding at a smaller ballroom can just be side-lined like this?)
Our Verdict:
NO.
We're looking at about 20 tables so Mandarin Oriental just didn't suit our needs. I was highly disappointed because I really fell in love with the place. I was also convinced that my guests would definitely be pleased with the food and the ambiance too.

- Caters to a wide range of needs, in terms of no. of min. table from 18 tables to a max. of 38 tables.
- One of the rare hotels left in SG that still serves shark's fin.
Cons of Goodwood Park Hotel:
The cost for special dietary requirements is good enough to tell you no to this hotel. Surely you'll have Muslim friends to invite.
Our Verdict:
NO. Duh.
3). Park Royal On Beach Road
Here's something I must point out.
Banquet sales manager (Felicia Koh) is extremely flexible and willing to meet your needs, do look for her if you are considering Park Royal on Beach Road!
She is also extremely approachable and responsible in her job. My friend had her as the coordinator and had nothing but praises for Felicia.
I also spoke to Felicia myself and yes, she really is amazing.

- Banquet sales manager (Felicia Koh) is extremely flexible and willing to meet your needs, do look for her if you are considering Park Royal on Beach Road!
- A REALLY reasonable banquet in terms of cost and value for money.
Cons of Park Royal on Beach:
- Solemnization will have to be done on the stage in the ballroom itself.
- Guests will have to vacate after the solemnization and wait around, with not many seats around the reception area until the staff have re-arranged the tables in the ballroom.
- Hotel itself still seems rather old despite the renovations of the ballrooms. A bit tak-match.
Our Verdict:
Sadly, no. :(
Even though we were very much convinced by Felicia, the cost, as well as the extremely alluring package, we decided against it.
For one simple reason of not wanting my guests to stand around awkwardly after our solemnization and before the dinner begins.
Just for this one simple reason. But if you're okay with it, I'll strongly recommend Park Royal on Beach Road for your wedding banquet. My friend who held her wedding there had the best time of her life and her guests enjoyed themselves too. She had no complaints and I could see why.
These were the top 3 considerations we had for our choice of Wedding banquets.
We ended up with Grand Hyatt, in which I'll share their package in another post.
That aside, we have a wedding date, a wedding venue, as well as our JP. I think we're going slowly, but surely! :D
30 OCT 2015, Grand Hyatt.
SAVE THE DATE, YOU GUYS! :D
